For many years, I thought that these climate-obsessed Zoomers were being manipulated by Xers or Boomers with a left-wing agenda operating behind the scenes.
But now Iβm starting to think the coercion also works both ways: Iβm increasingly seeing how some eco-zealot Zoomers are manipulating some very competent (yet admittedly insecure or naive) Xers or Boomers so they buy into their hysterical climate obsession.
It's so had to really know and be certain about what is really going on behined the scenes here. I think there is a bit of everything, everybody manipulang everyone and everything else β especialy the science is being manipulated to fit various agendas. What's clear is that it seems that the majority of the scietific community follow the funding money (mainly from big corporations), suffer from groupthink, parrot an accepted narrative, and are overly influenced by peer pressure and trends. They conform. And succomb to and engage in virtue signalling.
So it seems science is no longer about truth, it's about power and money.
Scientists who stay focussed on fact and truth, and don't toe the establishment line or conform with current dogma become heretics and mainsteam outcastes... like Dr Judith Curry.
Another such is Rupert Sheldrake. He wrote a book calld The Science Delusion, it's a phenominal read. He debunks current scientific dogma and re-introduces a spiritual element into science.
I admire these people. They don't say that they are absolutely right. They just say we don't know for certain yet, the debate is still open, we need more information, we need to get to the truth...
What I always have to remind myself of, is that when I was a kid, in the late 60s early 70s, the scientific establishment were warning us of an imminent global climate catastrophe, within the next decade or so... we were all heading for the next Ice Age... it's true, check it, a lot of this has just been swept under the table and is now never mentioned, but it was all over all of the news for years... lol
Spot on. I couldnβt agree more with everything you said.
Sadly many scientists are indeed following the money while the brave ones who dare question the dogma are silenced and banished. Happened a lot with covid as well.
Thanks for the book recommendation! Iβll check it out.
What you said in your last paragraph reminded me thereβs a website out there listing every single βcatastropheβ and how much time has gone by since it didnβt come true. If you donβt know it, Iβll dig it out for you.
If youβd like to look Paul published this link in his βone thingβ section today. Paul DMβd me, βcoz Immediately someone reacted with a βwwwtttffff!!! Iβm unsubscribing from this garbageβ π canβt please everyone all the time, would never have guessed that link could trigger someone that wayβ¦ π€·ββοΈ π
The events/predictions are in chronological order, from newest to oldest. You'll note the first ones are yet to be proven either right or wrong, but there's a countdown to the predicted date which makes it painfully obvious that in most cases the prediction in question will not materialise (e.g. planet will be uninhabitable in 25 years).
The real juice, however, is down below, where you can see all those predictions that have failed to materialise (in most cases, spectacularly so).

Crazy world weβre living in!

Seems like facing the truth is too much for some people π€£
Please dig it out, sounds like maybe a great thing for Paul Macko's mind blowing facts...
